Sales Navigator Core costs $119.99 a month or $1,079.88 a year. Cheaper alternatives depend on what you use it for: LinkedIn's free search for occasional lookups, a database such as Apollo for emails, or LeadTrapper at $50 a year to list people by role and city through search engines. Only Sales Navigator gives you InMail and LinkedIn's full filters.
- Sales Navigator Core is listed at $119.99 a month or $1,079.88 a year, and Advanced at $159.99 a month or $1,799.88 a year (LinkedIn's pricing page, checked 23 October 2026). Both list 50 InMail messages a month.
- Most people pay for three things: advanced search filters, lead lists, and InMail. No outside tool gives you InMail; only LinkedIn sells it.
- For finding who holds a role in a city, an X-ray search through Google or Bing is free, and LeadTrapper runs it across three search engines and exports the profiles for $50 a year.
- For contact details, databases such as Apollo sell emails and phone numbers by credits; LeadTrapper's Email Finder reads the company's own website instead.
- If you need to message people inside LinkedIn at volume, Sales Navigator is the permitted tool and nothing on this list replaces it.
The right Sales Navigator alternative depends on what you use Sales Navigator for. If it’s InMail, nothing replaces it: only LinkedIn sells messages to people you’re not connected with. If it’s finding who holds a role in a city, a search engine does that for free, and LeadTrapper’s LinkedIn scraper runs that search and exports the profiles for $50 a year. If it’s contact details, a database or the company’s own website will serve you better. This guide matches each alternative to the job, with prices checked on the vendors’ own pages on 23 October 2026.
What You Actually Pay For
Sales Navigator bundles several things, and most people use two or three of them:
- Advanced search. LinkedIn advertises more than 50 filters, such as seniority, company size, years in role and changed jobs recently.
- Lead and account lists. Saved people and companies, with alerts when they post or change roles.
- InMail. Messages to members you aren’t connected to.
- CRM sync on the higher plans.
Write down which of these you used last month. A sales rep in London who sends 40 InMails a week has a different answer from an agency owner in Dubai who exports a list of marketing directors once a quarter and then emails them. The second person is paying for a lot they don’t use.

Alternatives, Matched to the Job
To find who holds a role in a place
LinkedIn’s free search filters people by keyword, company and location. It stops showing results once LinkedIn decides you’ve searched more than it considers personal use, which happens fast when you prospect.
An X-ray search asks Google or Bing instead: site:linkedin.com/in "head of procurement" Riyadh returns public profiles that match, with no LinkedIn limit and no login. It’s free, and our LinkedIn X-ray search guide has strings to copy. The limit is the search engine’s: you see what it indexed and ranks, a page at a time.
LeadTrapper runs that X-ray search for you across Bing, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo, reads each profile, and exports name, headline, location, a match score and the profile link. More on that below.
To get emails and phone numbers
Contact databases such as Apollo sell emails and phone numbers from their own records. Apollo has a free plan and paid plans per user, with credits that don’t roll over. They’re strong for named people at larger companies and weaker for small local firms.
The company’s own website often lists team members with their addresses. LeadTrapper’s Email Finder reads up to 1,000 company websites per run and labels each email as a team member, department, branch or general inbox. Our guide to finding an email from a LinkedIn profile walks through the method.
To automate outreach on LinkedIn
Tools such as PhantomBuster, Dripify and Expandi automate connection requests and messages on your own LinkedIn account. They aren’t cheaper than Sales Navigator in every case, and they act on your account in ways LinkedIn’s terms forbid. Our PhantomBuster alternatives guide compares them.

| LinkedIn free search | Occasional lookups | Free | No | No |
| X-ray search by hand | Finding people by role and city | Free | No | No |

How LeadTrapper Fits
LeadTrapper is a Windows app. Its Profile Search takes a keyword, a location and an optional exact job title, builds a search such as site:linkedin.com/in property manager London "Head of Leasing", and reads up to four pages of 20 results from Bing and from Yahoo, plus DuckDuckGo. It keeps links to profiles only, opens each one, and reads the name, headline and location. You set up to 1,000 results per run, sort by score, and export CSV. Our LinkedIn profile scraper guide covers every field.
What it doesn’t do matters as much:
- No messaging. It sends no connection requests, no messages and no InMail.
- No emails from LinkedIn. The email and phone columns stay empty. The Email Finder gets emails from company websites instead.
- Not LinkedIn-approved. The search step reads search engines, not LinkedIn, but reading the profile pages is collecting LinkedIn data with software, which LinkedIn’s terms forbid, as does LinkedIn allow scraping explains.
What you get for the $50 is the rest of the toolkit: the Google Maps scraper, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook lead finders, the Email Finder and the WhatsApp bulk sender. For a small business that sells to local companies, that combination often finds more reachable buyers than LinkedIn alone.
When to Keep Sales Navigator
Keep it if your buyers live on LinkedIn and answer there: enterprise software, recruiting, consulting to large firms. InMail, lead alerts and LinkedIn’s own filters are worth $1,079.88 a year when they close one deal. Drop it, or pause it, if you mostly export lists and reach people elsewhere. Many teams keep one Sales Navigator seat for the person who messages, and build lists for everyone else more cheaply.
If you’re starting from people you already know, LinkedIn’s own connections export is free and permitted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Partly. LinkedIn's free search filters by name, company, location and more, but limits searches once LinkedIn decides you're using it commercially. An X-ray search on Google or Bing, such as site:linkedin.com/in "head of procurement" Riyadh, is free and has no LinkedIn limit. Neither gives you InMail, lead lists or Sales Navigator's advanced filters.
LinkedIn's pricing page lists Core at $119.99 a month or $1,079.88 a year, Advanced at $159.99 a month or $1,799.88 a year, and Advanced Plus by custom quote (checked 23 October 2026). Prices may exclude VAT and vary by country.
For contact data, yes: Apollo is a database with emails and phone numbers, a free plan and paid per-user plans. It's a different kind of tool. Sales Navigator searches LinkedIn's own member data and lets you message members; Apollo gives you its own records to email or call outside LinkedIn.
For one job: building a list of people by role, industry and city. LeadTrapper finds LinkedIn profiles through Bing, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo and exports name, headline, location and link, for $50 a year. It sends no LinkedIn messages, has no InMail and returns no emails, and collecting LinkedIn profiles with software is against LinkedIn's terms.
If LinkedIn is where your buyers answer messages, and you'll use InMail and lead lists every week, often yes. If you mainly need a list of who to contact and reach them by email, phone or WhatsApp, a cheaper list-building route usually covers it.
