The best Facebook group scraper depends on what you need. Chrome extensions such as Group Extractor export member lists cheaply, PhantomBuster exports up to 5,000 members from the cloud, Apify scrapes public group posts, and LeadTrapper exports members of groups you belong to and finds business contacts through the Ad Library.

Key Takeaways
  • Facebook group scrapers do one of two jobs: export the member list, or collect the group's posts. Check which one a tool does before you pay.
  • Group Extractor, a Chrome extension with about 20,000 users, is free for up to 100 members and exports names, profile links and join dates, with a paid plan for larger groups.
  • PhantomBuster's Facebook Group Members Export collects up to 5,000 members from a group you belong to, on plans from $69 a month after a 14-day trial.
  • Apify's Facebook Groups Scraper collects posts and comments from public groups, not members, from $2.60 per 1,000 posts.
  • No group scraper returns phone numbers or emails, because Facebook doesn't show them in member lists. For business contacts, LeadTrapper's Ad Library and page tools are the better route, inside the same $50 a year app.

A Facebook group scraper turns a group into a spreadsheet, but tools that sound alike do different jobs. Some export the member list, some collect posts, and some only work on groups you’ve joined. This guide compares five options on what they export, what they cost and where they stop. One of them, LeadTrapper, is ours, and we say so wherever it appears. Details are from each tool’s own page, checked on 25 October 2026.

Members or Posts

  • Member exporters read the group’s Members tab and return names and profile links, sometimes with roles or join dates. They need you to be a member, because they use your login.
  • Post scrapers collect what people post in a group, with authors, dates and engagement. Some work on public groups without joining.

Neither returns phone numbers or emails. Facebook doesn’t show them in member lists, so no tool can collect them there.

The Five Tools

1. LeadTrapper (Windows desktop app)

The group members search in LeadTrapper’s Facebook Scraper takes the link to a group you belong to and returns each member’s name, role, profile link and Facebook ID, exported to CSV or Excel. You set a limit from 10 to 5,000. A run stops at that limit or after 30 scrolls, so a very large group may take more than one run, and it remembers who it has collected so repeats are skipped. The group members scraper guide covers every detail.

What sets it apart is the rest of the Facebook Scraper. The Ad Library search finds businesses running ads by keyword and country, and the Page Scraper reads their pages for contact details. If a business has a website, the Email Finder reads it for emails and phone numbers. It pauses automatically when Facebook shows a security check or rate limit. It costs $50 a year after a 14-day free trial, on Windows 10 and 11.

2. Group Extractor (Chrome extension)

The most-used group extractor on the Chrome Web Store showed about 20,000 users. It exports members with their profile URLs, names and join dates, works inside Facebook with your account by simulating scrolling, and adds random pauses. It’s free for up to 100 members, with a paid subscription for larger exports. Join date is a field LeadTrapper doesn’t collect.

3. Other group member extensions

Several smaller extensions do the same job, for example “Group Extractor & Export Group Members” by extractor.plus (about 2,000 users, rated 4.5) and FaceGM (about 40 users). Most exports are CSV or Excel. With small user counts and few reviews, test one on a small group before relying on it.

4. PhantomBuster Facebook Group Members Export (cloud)

PhantomBuster runs the export from its servers using your Facebook session. Its guide says you can extract up to 5,000 profiles from a group you’re a member of, and suggests keeping each export to about 4,000 to 5,000. There’s a 14-day free trial, then plans from $69 a month, or $56 a month billed yearly. It suits teams already using PhantomBuster for other automations. The PhantomBuster alternatives guide covers its pricing and hour limits.

5. Apify Facebook Groups Scraper (cloud, posts)

Apify’s Facebook Groups Scraper collects posts, not members: each post’s text, author, time, engagement counts, top comments and media. It works only on public groups and lists a price from $2.60 per 1,000 posts, lower on higher plans. It’s the right tool for researching what a community talks about. More on Apify in the Apify alternatives guide.

Which One Fits Your Job

  • One member list, once: a Chrome extension such as Group Extractor.
  • Large exports run from the cloud alongside other automations: PhantomBuster.
  • What a public group is posting about: Apify.
  • Business leads you can actually contact: LeadTrapper’s Ad Library and page tools, with group member lists in the same app.

The Rules

Meta’s Terms prohibit collecting data by automated means without its permission, and that applies to every tool here. A group’s members are private individuals, and their names and profile links are personal data, so privacy law such as the GDPR may apply to how you use the list. Keep runs modest, use an account you can afford to have limited, and don’t add people to outreach lists they wouldn’t expect. This isn’t legal advice. If what you need is WhatsApp group contacts instead, see how to export WhatsApp group contacts.

Where LeadTrapper Finds Leads

LeadTrapper collects leads from each of these sources in one Windows app, then checks the numbers and sends the WhatsApp messages from the same place.

Frequently Asked Questions

For a one-off member list from a group you're in, a Chrome extension such as Group Extractor is the cheapest. For larger exports run from the cloud, PhantomBuster. For a public group's posts, Apify. For member lists plus advertisers and business pages with contact details in one Windows app, LeadTrapper at $50 a year.

For members, generally no. The extensions, PhantomBuster and LeadTrapper all read the member list through your own Facebook login, so they see only what your account sees. Apify's Groups Scraper reads posts from public groups without joining, but not member lists.

No. Facebook member lists show names, profile links and sometimes roles or join dates, not contact details. Businesses publish contacts on their Facebook pages and websites, so a page scraper or an email finder is the tool for that.

Group Extractor is free up to 100 members, several other extensions have free tiers, Apify includes $5 of usage a month, and PhantomBuster has a 14-day trial. LeadTrapper has a 14-day free trial with every feature.
