Hunter.io's paid plans start at 49€ a month, or 34€ a month billed yearly, for 2,000 credits, and Snov.io starts at $39 a month. Both sell credits against a database. For local businesses, LeadTrapper's Email Finder reads each business's own website instead: up to 1,000 sites per run, with phones and WhatsApp numbers, for $50 a year.
- Hunter.io's paid plans were 49€, 149€ and 299€ a month on 25 October 2026, or 34€, 104€ and 209€ a month billed yearly, with 2,000, 10,000 and 25,000 credits a month. The free plan gives 50 credits a month.
- Snov.io's paid plans start at $39 a month, or $29.25 billed yearly, for 1,000 credits. Its free trial excludes bulk search and export.
- Hunter and Snov.io search a database of addresses and charge a credit per lookup. That suits finding a named person at a company with its own domain.
- LeadTrapper's Email Finder reads each business's own website instead, up to 1,000 sites per run, and also saves phone and WhatsApp numbers, addresses and social profiles. It costs $50 a year with every LeadTrapper feature.
- For local businesses such as clinics, shops and agencies, the website is usually where the contact details are, and reading it costs nothing per lookup.
People look for a Hunter.io alternative for two reasons: the credits run out faster than expected, or the businesses they want to reach aren’t in the database. Which alternative fits depends on which of those you hit. This guide compares Hunter with Snov.io, which works the same way, and with LeadTrapper’s Email Finder, which works differently. LeadTrapper is ours, and we say so wherever it appears.
Two Ways to Find a Business Email
A database search. Hunter and Snov.io keep a large index of addresses and the patterns companies use, such as firstname@company.com. You give them a domain, or a name and a domain, and each lookup costs credits. This is strong when you want a specific person at a company with its own corporate domain.
Reading the business’s own website. Most local businesses publish their email and phone number on their own site, on the contact, team, about or branch pages. A tool that reads those pages finds what the business itself put there for customers, which is often the best address to write to. It also picks up the phone and WhatsApp numbers on the same pages, which a database of emails doesn’t.
For a list of dental clinics, real estate offices or restaurants in one city, the second approach usually finds more, and it costs nothing per lookup.
What Hunter.io and Snov.io Cost
Prices as each company’s pricing page showed them on 25 October 2026. Hunter showed its prices in euros to European visitors.
| Plan | Monthly | Billed yearly | Credits a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hunter Free | 0€ | 0€ | 50 |
| Hunter Starter | 49€ | 34€ a month (408€ a year) | 2,000 |
| Hunter Growth | 149€ | 104€ a month (1,248€ a year) | 10,000 |
| Hunter Scale | 299€ | 209€ a month (2,508€ a year) | 25,000 |
| Snov.io Trial | Free | Free | 50 |
| Snov.io Starter | $39 | $29.25 a month | 1,000 |
| Snov.io Pro S | $99 | $74.25 a month | 5,000 |
| LeadTrapper | $50 a year | No credits |
Hunter’s FAQ says each verified email costs half a credit. Snov.io’s free trial excludes bulk search, bulk verification and export, so a real list needs a paid plan. Both include email sending tools: Hunter’s free plan has one connected email account with up to 500 recipients per sequence, and Snov.io plans include a monthly number of email recipients.
Reading the Website Instead
LeadTrapper’s Email Finder takes the second approach. It is part of the LeadTrapper Windows app and runs on your own computer.
- Reads hundreds of websites at once. Paste up to 1,000 websites, load them from Excel or CSV, or type a business type and a city and let the Google Maps scraper find the businesses first.
- Looks where contacts live. Besides the home page, it opens each site’s Contact, Team, About and Branches pages, up to 12 extra pages in Deep mode.
- Collects every way to reach the business: emails, phone and WhatsApp numbers, addresses, social profiles, and the contact-form page when there’s no email at all.
- Labels who each email belongs to: a general inbox, a department, a team member with their name, or a branch.
- Checks emails before you send. It flags typing mistakes and throwaway inboxes, and checks whether each email’s domain can receive mail.
It never guesses an address. If a website publishes no email, you get its contact form and phone numbers instead of a made-up pattern. For the step-by-step method, see how to extract emails from a list of websites.

Which Fits Which Job
Hunter or Snov.io fit you if you sell to companies with their own domains and need named people, such as a head of marketing, and you plan to send email sequences from the same tool.
LeadTrapper fits you if you sell to local businesses that publish their contacts, if WhatsApp works better than email in your market, or if you’d rather pay one yearly price than watch a credit balance. It also builds the list in the first place with the Google Maps scraper, and checks numbers with the WhatsApp Number Filter before you send.
Many teams use both: a database tool for named contacts at larger companies, and website reading for everyone else. If your list starts from LinkedIn, see how to find an email from a LinkedIn profile.
Emailing Businesses Within the Rules
Reading addresses a business publishes is generally allowed, but using them is regulated. In the US, CAN-SPAM requires your identity, honest subject lines and a working opt-out. In the EU and UK, privacy law applies to emails that name a person, so a general inbox is the safer first contact. The guide to finding business email addresses covers where businesses publish them and how to write to them. This is not legal advice.
Where LeadTrapper Finds Leads
LeadTrapper collects leads from each of these sources in one Windows app, then checks the numbers and sends the WhatsApp messages from the same place.
- Google Maps Scraper: Business leads from any city.
- Facebook Scraper: Advertisers, pages and group members.
- Instagram Scraper: Leads from profiles and hashtags.
- TikTok Scraper: Creators, hashtags and commenters.
- LinkedIn Scraper: Profiles by role and city.
- Email Finder: Emails from business websites.

No. LeadTrapper doesn't guess addresses from name patterns. It collects only the emails a business publishes on its own website, labelled as a general inbox, a department, a team member or a branch. If a site publishes none, it saves the contact-form page and any phone or WhatsApp number instead.
Yes. In LeadTrapper's Email Finder you paste up to 1,000 websites or load them from Excel or CSV, or type a business type and a city and let the Google Maps scraper find the businesses first. It reads four websites at a time on your own computer.
